Dedication of a Plaque Honoring the Marietta Militia at the Buffington Island Battlefield

On July 18, 2026, a plaque honoring the Marietta Militia was dedicated at the Buffington Island battlefield. Roundtable members Bob Pence and Glen Reisner attended the dedication ceremony, and below are photographs from that ceremony. The vital role played by the Marietta Militia in the capture of John Hunt Morgan and his men is described on the plaque, which can be read in two of the photographs below.
